How we make money

How we make money — and why you benefit from it.

We are transparent about our business model. Not because we have to be, but because transparency is the reason alletta works.

How we make money

Here's how it works — step by step

01

You switch or sign up — fully digital

When you take out supplementary insurance or legal expenses insurance through alletta, we pass the contract directly to the insurer. You sign digitally, we take care of the rest.

02

The insurer pays us a commission

Like every other insurance broker in Switzerland, we receive a brokerage commission from the insurer. It is already included in the price of your insurance — so you don't pay more than you would directly with the insurer.

03

We give part of it back to you

Because you advise yourself at alletta and take on a large part of the work an adviser would otherwise do, we give you part of the commission back as cashback.

04

The ranking stays neutral

Which insurer is shown to you depends on your needs and your budget — not on which insurer pays us more. All partners are assessed by the same criteria.

How is the cashback calculated?

Supplementary insurance

For concluding a supplementary insurance policy, brokers receive a commission from the insurer. It is regulated across the industry and is customarily between 6 and 16 monthly premiums — set out in the industry agreement on insurance brokerage (BVV 3.0).

alletta calculates the cashback uniformly on the basis of 12 monthly premiums, regardless of the insurer. We give you 33 % of that back — because you handle the advice yourself. The maximum cashback is CHF 300 per person.

There is no statutory industry agreement for legal expenses insurance. A commission basis of 12 monthly premiums is customary. alletta applies the same principle: 33 % of it goes to you as cashback, up to a maximum of CHF 70 per household.

Why is there no cashback on basic insurance?

For concluding a basic insurance policy we receive a commission that is capped by law — it is so low that it does not cover our costs. Passing on cashback would therefore not be possible.

That doesn't change the fact that we help you switch your basic insurance — transparently, independently and without pressure. The cashback comes with supplementary insurance and legal protection.

The model at a glance

Our model is simple: insurers pay us because we bring them qualified policies. We pass part of it on to you because you do the advisory work yourself. What remains finances the operation of the platform.
