Introduction

The Swiss fintech startup alletta is entering the insurance market with a novel business model. In an environment where health insurance premiums are steadily rising and broker commissions reach an annual volume of around 1.25 billion francs, alletta relies on maximum efficiency through a purely digital advisory process. Instead of expensive offices and traditional direct marketing, the company offers a digital insurance platform Switzerland that enables customers to make a transparent comparison and complete health and supplemental insurance online.

The special feature: through an innovative cashback model, part of the broker commission is reimbursed directly to customers – households can significantly reduce their health insurance costs. Recommendations within personal networks as well as B2B solutions for companies, associations and clubs are also integrated into the cashback system.

Since August 2023, alletta has been registered as an official insurance intermediary with Finma under the number F01442247 and is already working with leading Swiss health insurers such as Assura, CSS, Groupe Mutuel, Helsana, KPT, Swica, Sympany, Visana, Atupri and Sanitas. In addition to basic insurance, the platform now also covers supplemental insurance comparison Switzerland – for the first time, benefits can be compared digitally 1:1. The customer experience is enhanced by modern technologies such as Document AI, Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Text and avatars, combined with a user interface in up to ten languages.

With this approach, alletta positions itself as a kind of "Booking.com for insurance" and clearly distinguishes itself from traditional brokers. The fintech has ambitious plans: after successfully expanding into the legal protection insurance sector, the company is exploring additional markets and preparing for internationalization, particularly to Germany.

alletta thus represents a new era of digital insurance mediation – efficient, transparent, customer-oriented and with real savings potential for policyholders in Switzerland.
